1st off, are you using a 64-bit version of Windows? What do you mean by S-Video switch? Laptops have those ports built-in. What NVIDIA drivers did you update to (try to give me the link if you can)?Hello! Note: only builds 7000 (beta) and 7100 (official RC) are supported here in these forums. So you plug the s-video directly into the laptop, or a external converter box? I'm not quite getting that part. I looked up the drivers at nvidia, and you have the latest ones. Did you try setting the tv output out of the Windows control panel and not NVIDIA's control panel?Hello! Have you tried switching to the RC (build 7100) yet? The beta version should have started the bi-hourly shutdowns by now and maybe this problem is a bug of the beta that was fixed in the RC?Hello! Thaks JoelbX and others for support :)Before asking here this issue i was with tech support of microsoft and they checked about my version (7057) and it is the same version than RC proposed to people on the globe. So 7057 + ms updates = 7100 no doubt on it . After other tests with original os (vista home premium x64) and original drivers from Acer : The s-video switch is ok and work.NVidia is fine for detect Sharp Aquos 1080p and put image on screen very well. When running Windos 7 : The driver of NVidia can not givethe good tv hertz resolution : give me choice between 29 or 30 hertz : suppose to be 59 or 60 hertz habitualyThe driver of NVidia see can not adjust the resolution of the Sharp Aquos 1080p more than1024 X 768.So it means that NVidia driver work fine. Means also that Windows connect to a projector works fine too.Problem now is with my s-video switch driver when using Windows 7. I got a Acer Aspire 5920G and now trying to find the driver and/or the software from Acer to re-install it ....Lot of fun from horizon ... lol

Thanks mlg63 but this key serves for muting speakers. key Fn + F5 serves for switching screen and this is not the problem. The problem is the driver who control some parts of my laptop (included s-vido switch). I tryed chipset new version on Acer web site but no change. And Acer can not tell me witch driver to download from there web site because tech support does not know it.I begin to think that Acer is not a good choice to buy a laptop like sony vaio (i got 2 of them at home) or Toshiba, HP, Compac ...If someone knows how to determine witch driver controles my s-video switch, let me knowthanks for support all of youMario

I highlyrecommend downloading and installing the RC version build 7100 since your version is not officially supported in this forum fora variety of reasons and then proceeding to resolve the issue with that installation in order that better support can be provided.

I was not convinced about my version 7057 and RC but I made the instalationof RC to try if maybe. I installed all drivers that go for my laptop also for Win 7.I got the same problem with ths S-VIDEO swtch on my laptop. So all of you must know that Win 7 (7057) = Win 7 (7100 RC) like microsoft told me (see comments above). I work so much in partner with microsoft believe them. After other tests, i find exactly whythe switch do not work, it is because of Windows 7.Here why :1) The cable is no 1 and work with Vista and 72) The switch works on vista3) (Most important) With Win 7 the screen appears on tv (sharp aquos 1080p) 1 second than desappears immediatly. With Win 7 the screen appears on tv (toshiba 32" flat screen)1 second than desappears immediatly. So signal goes tru cable. So conclusion : Win 7 can not support S-Video switch. I will send it to Microsoft too.If someone find the solution tell me. If i solve the solution i will post it here :)

Stop changing monitors, TVs, and everything. Leave Microsoft proove to you that they deserve the money all the world giving them. Come on Micro boys ... We are the clients ... stop scratch your head and get back to work. I don't wont to see you before solving the problem. 300 bulgarian leva for your crapy windows ... why it doesn't work (talking for my S-video). I don't care for HDMI, VGA and whatever. I just want to use my S-video, because that is why I get my PC and I did paid Microsoft for Windows 7 Ultimate. Proove that you boys don't suck!
