Windows 7 and LDAP authentication
Hi, I have a SAMBA domain which Win7 logs on after some regedit. On the SAMBA domain LDAP authentivation is used. My Win2k ( I'm sorry but we still have W2k systems also;)) and Win-XP Pro logs on with no problems, but Windows 7 do not authenticate. I need some help here please. Regards Firak

The following thread should be helpful on this issue. Windows 7 can see Samba Shares but cannot see Samba Domain Arthur Xie - MSFT

Hi Arthur Xie, thx for your answer. I can ping the SAMBA server. My W7 client has logged on the SAMBA net. The LDAP server is in on the same volume. In the LDAP navigation W7 is listed as: uid:R8XPRP6$,ou=Machines,dc=my,dc=domain In the same way I can see a Win-XP as: uid:HUSK-3$,ou=Machines,dc=my,dc=domain This part seems to be OK. The problems is my domain users, which are LDAP users. When I log in as a domain user this message comes up: "The trust relationship between this workstation and the primary domain failed." The users can log in from a Win2k and a Win-XP system, but NOT from the W7 system (yet). I have read your link carefully, this link unfortunately does not solve my problem. So - I'm still in the fogg ;). Any advises? Firak
