Windows 7 and Automatic Updates Via WSUS
It appears that the location in the registry for setting the computer to work with our WSUS server has changed in Windows 7. I cannot seem to find anywhere online that discusses setting the registry keys to direct my windows 7 computer to get it's updates from our WSUS server. Can anyone point me to where these are?

Hi, To make your computer updates normally,it's better toapply the latest Windows Server Update Services 3.0 SP2 for your WSUS server, You can download the SP2 from the following link according to your server version:http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=a206ae20-2695-436c-9578-3403a7d46e40&displaylang=en#filelistAfter that, you can refer to the following link to managing updates to your network. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd939822(WS.10).aspxI hope this can help you. I was hoping that there was a way to set the settings via registry, we don't have GPO setup yet. But I can do via GPO for the one machine I have currently.

First, you must make sure that your Server has installed the latest Windows Server Update Services 3.0 SP2, or your Windows 7 computer may not be recognized correctly by your Server. If your Server has installed the SP2, you can try to modify the following registries to configure Automatic Updates. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\AU HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\For more detail, you can refer to the steps inthe KB328010, http://support.microsoft.com/kb/328010 In my opinion, youd better to contact your IT professional to inquire if they have installed the WSUS 3.0 SP2, and the server name, so that you can modify the registry correctly.
