Hi, To successfully analyze this error, you need to look at the IRP and see which driver it hung, http://mikemstech.blogspot.com/2011/11/how-to-troubleshoot-0x9f.html -- Mike Burr Technology

Hi, The issue is mostly caused by ACPI. Please try the following hotfix. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2315295 Niki Han TechNet Community Support

I have the same M6600 laptop and I experienced a similar problem (the only difference to the OP is that my OS is Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 with the Hyper-V role). I downloaded the hotfix, but it says:"The update is not applicable to your computer". Have a look at my other thread! http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-SG/winservergen/thread/75aca040-70ef-4406-9592-01472b4291aa

Just wondering if you've come up with a solution to the problem? I know the thread is ten months old, but I have a Dell M6600 that has been giving us fits with this exact problem since we purchased it. The hotfix didn't work for the M6600. I would appreciate any leads you might have found (maybe the nVidia issue??). Thanks, ChrisChris McGinty
