Windows 7 Windows Startup Sound
NOT the Windows logoff or any of the others listed in the Sounds menu. The sound your computer makes when everything starts up. You know, that stupid Windows sound. Why can't it be changed in the Sounds menu like in previous versions of Windows WITHOUT having to go through 8 kinds of heck and high water, downloading some idiot program or having to be familiar with all the idiot crap Windows pulls? When did the Microsoft geeks decide that I can't personalize the program I bought from them? All the so-called answers are the southern output of a north-facing bull. I have enough trouble with Windows 7 without changing things in the program.

First get a software called Resource Hacker Then go to C:\Windows\System 32 and copy imageres.dll Backup the original dll first edit that dll with resource hacker and expand wave resources The wave file is there Save it and place the modified dll back there You need elevated permissions to replace the dll So take the dll's ownership to your account Vgr1
