Windows 7 VPN issues
Our City has a domain with mixed server OS's. We have operated with a Cisco 1601 and a PIX firewall for years. VPN was setup for some users to remote in. It has been working fine with '98, XP's. We are now getting some Win 7 computers and some employees with take home laptops are unable to VPN in. I have read the many blogs and cant seem to find a solution. Nothing is blocked, no firewalls are enabled, no ports are blocked on either side yet Windows 7 is unable to vpn in. We have been told that we should update the firmware in our router, which would be a major headache for a small City like us (and expensive). We have also been told to try the new Cisco Autoconnect which we cant seem to get from Cisco because we cant locate our account key (we do have one somewhere and Cisco admits they know our name). This could be a deal breaker for us and Windows 7. Is there a simple solution? We have spent hours on the phone with tech people, days searching the internet, our last name is now City of Google. Is there a vpn client for win 7 that works with older routers?

What is the VPN server? Is it a Cisco VPN server? Are you using Cisco VPN client on client computers? You may need the latest Windows 7 compatible Cisco VPN client.
