Windows 7 VPN client drops connection immediately after authentication
Unable to connect to VPN using the Windows 7 client. However, I *CAN* connect to the same VPN using Open VPN. Using the Windows 7 (pro) client, I go all the way through to being authenticated and registered on the system, then am promptly dropped. What should I check or try changing?

Hi, Did you get any error message? First, please check the Event viewer and find the events created by “RemoteAccess” to troubleshoot the issue. If you can get any error information, as a reference, I would like to share the following article with you: Troubleshooting common VPN related errors For a test, I suggest you try to boot into Clean Boot mode to check what the result is. Hope it helps. Alex ZhaoPlease remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Alex, Thank you for the link; it proved helpful. Although the automatic setting should have worked (and did on another PC), it was necessary to set the authentication type on my desktop to keep the connection from dropping. Lea
