Windows 7 VPN client cannot connect to XP Pro server
I have set up a VPN server on a Windows XP Pro machine on my LAN. I can connect to the server from another XP Pro machine. However, when I try to connect to the XP VPN server from a Windows 7 Pro 64 bit client I get error 919 with the following message: "Error 919: The connection could not be established because the authentication protocol used by the RAS/VPN server to verify your username and password could not be matched with the settings in your connection profile." Clearly this is a Win7 to XP compatibility problem since I can connect using an XP client. What must I change where to be able to connect from Win7 to XP using the Microsoft VPN client and server?
