Windows 7 VPN PPTP 619 error
After moving from Windows Vista to Windows 7 I don't seem to be able to connect to the corporate VPN server. For Vista the Security Settings were: Typical (recommended settings) and "Require Secure Password" and everything else was off. Changing the OS is the only thing that has happened here. Same hardware, network, router,... What is the equivalent to "Typical" and "Require Secure Password" for Windows 7? The Windows 7 security tab is very different.

Hi, Please temporarily turn off firewall. Then remove the original VPN connection and create a new one via following steps. 1.Click Start button --> Control Panel -> Network and Internet -> Network and Share Center --> Click "Set up a new connection or network" under the "Change your networking settings". 2.Select " Connect to a workplace" and click Next --> Use my internet connection (VPN) --> Type the internet address and destination name in the box --> Check 'Don't connect now; just set it up so I can connect later' and click Next --> Enter your VPN username and password --> Then click the 'Create' button --> Click the 'Close' button to finish. Usually, it need not manually modify the Security properties except that the VPN network is protected and modified. If so, you need contact the network administrator for further assistance. Thanks, Novak

That didn't work for me. I'm getting the same error connecting to a VPN server that I know works. Any other ideas? Cheers,Dan
