Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor
I downloaded the Advisor but it gives me an error every time I click on Start Check. The error message unable to connect to Microsoft server for compatibility and tells me to check my Internet connection and if there is a new version of the Advisor available. I don't have any problem with my Internet connection and there is no other version of this Advisor, so I am totally lost why it can't connect--and I have been trying all morning and this afternoon. Anyone else having this problem or know what is going on?

I have had the same problem all day today. It worked on a different machine just fine yesterday.Hopefully its just a temporary outage. but if anyone has any more info, it would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Cavicchi, Try the following link again http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/get/upgrade-advisor.aspx. If it still does not work well, you might download the utility on another computer and copy it to this computer via USB flash drive. Thanks for your time and understanding! Andy

Andy I have the Advisor on my computer but it does not scan. I get the error message posted in my first message above. It was working the first day I tried it but since yesterday morning it does not work--and I downloaded it again but still doesn't work.

Well, I can stop being concerned with what is wrong with my machine. Looks like it is a problem on the other end of the string. I can stop trying to pull it tighter. Thanks for the responses. Hopefully it will start working and someone will post a notice here to alert everyone who has been following this.

Yes, i'm placing my bet on it being a MS Sever issue. I ran the tool successfully on a machine (M1) on Monday, and it worked fine. Tried on another machine (M2) yesterday and today and no luck. Tried again on the machinie that worked on Monday(M1), and no luck today. Same error....cannot connect. It has to be on their end.
