Windows 7 Ultimate hangs upon connecting with my Tata Indicomm data card.
I recently upgraded to Windows 7 from Windows Vista Home Premium. I am using a Compaq Dual-Core laptop and use Tata Indicom's Photon Plus (Huawei EC1260 device) to connect to internet. After upgrading to Windows 7, the data card initially stopped being detected. Some days later it started working automatically. And now, whenever I get connected to internet, the system simply hangs. There's no blue screen or anything, it simply hangs and stops responding. I have no option but to hardboot. I tried connecting to internet using a friends Wi-Fi connection and it worked fine. The problem seems to come only when I use the data card. Please advise.

Hi, Based on my research, I would like to suggest the following: 1. Ensure that the driver for this device is up-to-date. I have also checked this on HUAWEIs site and could not find its driver for Windows 7. If you have not a Windows 7 driver for this device either, please also try the driver you have with Compatibility Mode to check how it works. In addition, I also searched this device on Windows 7 Compatibility Center and could not get the information about it. If you want to know the compatibility information of this device, please contact HUAWEI directly. Note: Microsoft provides third-party contact information to help you find technical support. This contact information may change without notice. Microsoft does not guarantee the accuracy of this third-party contact information. 2. On the computer, if there is some software related to this device, please remove it or check if there is a new version for Windows 7. 3. Please boot the system to Clean Boot and check the issue: How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7 Hope this helps. Thanks. Nicholas Li - MSFT
