how does the pc get an ip address atm? are they distributed by dhcp or are the configured manually? the ip of the dc should show up as dns server when you type ipconfig in cmd.exe. can you ping your dc from the workstation in question?

Hi, 1. Make sure that the primary DNS address of Windows 7 client is the DC's IP address. 2. As I know, some security software may block the domain join process, you can temporarily disable security software and re-join again. 3. You could manually specify a static IP address for Windows 7 machine, ensure that the IP address of Windows 7 is in the same scope of Windows Server 2008.
