Hi:I have read a large number of threads related to networking but none seems to fit my case, so here it goes:I had Windows XP Professional 32 bits installed, upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bits, after a number of issues with the installation in the end succeed but now I started having this issue:I see in the "Network and Sharing Center"Under "View your active networks":Unidentified Network/Public NetworkUnder" Connect or disconnect":Access type: No network accessConnections:Local Area ConnectionMy network hardware:NIC: INTEL 82567LF-2I have a Linksys switchI have a broadband router provided by my ISPAnother PCHere is the setup:Linksys switch is connected to the routerWin7 PC connected to the switchPC2 connected to the switchHere is what happens:PC2 can connect and obtain an IP address without issuesWin7 PC:*Can not connect and obtain an IP address using DHCP*Can not connect using a fixed IP*PING returns "unreachable host"*Ran the adapter diagnostics and came up with no issues*Cable works fine if connected to another device*Connected directly to router and still does not get an IP*Re-started router, switch, PC and no results*Disabled adapter in Windows and re-enabled it with no results*Tried to find the Bonjour service and is not present in the system*Tried disabling the IPV6 and with no results*Tried flushing DNS, releasing IP, renewing IP with no resultsAND NOW FOR THE GRAND FINALE, IT WAS WORKING FINE YESTERDAY!

I read a weird thread about some people having issues with this and have MS Office installed, so for the record I do not have MS Office installed

I had something happening that was close.....I run a sever2003 domain and added win7 pc....after going through all the network browsing issues and finding the fix myself it started the same thing, kicking itself off the network....I found I had a xp media center pc with upnp turned on and the router had upnp turned on....seems the mce pc had taken over control of the router....I turned off the upnp and after a complete reboot of all the network pcs and router,i let it settle down (master browser changes) it seems to be working just fine now.....if you find you don't or didn't have that, try;booting into safe mode with networking support ( then ping the gateway/router )change the cable ( could be the end just doesn't want to match up )appears to be a physical issue but could be being fooled by something else, thats the safemode suggestionI've seen network cards not auto negotiating with some switches before, seems it's close to that as wellhope the suggestions help

one other suggestion would be to reset the dhcp server....that would typically be within the router config.....it may not be releasing the lease of the ip address, this would typically mean you would get another one when you release renew.....the issue could be with the isp router can you get into the confige screen for it?on your other pc try to go to your gateway address....192.168.1.1 or something simular

Thanks for the suggestion, I deleted the old leasefrom DHCP but did not workDeleted the DHCP as well

Thanks for the suggestion, I disabled the UPNP on the router with no positive results.I re-started in Safe mode with networking and set the IP manually but still can not reach the Gateway address 192.168.1.1I am beginning to think it might be physical, though I would hate it because it it was working fine yesterday, anyway I will buy a new NIC card next Monday if nothing else helps!Thanks again

Hi Everyone:Im a bizarre twist of things, I discovered an unexpected solution, I disconnected the Linksys switch which is a 5-port 10/100 model EZXS55W and upgraded tothis switch:TRENDNET 5-port Gigabit GREENnet model TEG-S5g after installing it Windows 7 accepted a new IP address.
