I recently purchased a new Laptop running Windows 7 Ultimate Edition. At home I have a file server running Windows 2K Advanced Server. My server can see but not access my Laptop and my Laptop cannot see let alone access my file server. I am NOT running a domain set up just simply a file share set up with no password protection of any kind. Can anybody help me connect these computers?

Do the machines have static IP addresses, or is the Server doing DHCP? Do you have any other machines that do connect properly to the server? When you say "see", do you mean in Explorer, or by pinging?
