Off the top of my head these things are necessary. Check numbers 3 and 4 specifically.1. Setting up theability to connect into your PCcomes with a certain amount security risk, as someone else with your username and password could connectin and control your system. Don't let people know your username and password, and use a strong password.2. (Probably doesn't apply to you in this case)You need to open a port tothecomputer to be controlled through your router, if the destination computer is on a home network and Internet access is done through a router. This is usually called "port forwarding", and a good way to confuse a would-be hacker a bitis to map to the RDP port (3389) on your compuerfrom an external port of a differentnumber.3. You need to set the Windows firewall through Advanced Settings to allow an incoming RDP TCP connection from the Public network. I believe it is normally set up to just allow connections from your local networkor domain (for corporate users).4. You'll need to set Windows to allow Remote Desktop connections from computers in the System - Advanced System Settings, Remote tab, including users you want to allow.5. Testing can be a little difficult - though not incredibly so -as you need to try to connect in from outside your home network. I call that a good reason to take the ol' laptop to Starbucks or Panera Bread. :)6. Remote connections are made by Start->Programs->Accessories->Remote Desktop Connection, and connecting to your computer's IP address:port number like this: 123.123.123.123:45678 Note that there are options you can set for how you want the window managed.Hope this helps!-Noel
