Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit and File Sharing with Windows XP Pro 32 Bit
I have been trying to connect XP Pro 32 Bit to Windows 7 Ult 64 to no avail. I have been reading blogs from various sites and all of them state to have both systems in the same workgroup. Albeit this is all good and well but let me add a twist to this though. 1) Windows XP Pro 32 Bit joined to my employers AD model 2) Windows 7 Ult 64 in Standalone (Workgroup) mode My questions are can both systems access admin shares? That is ny biggest problem so I need help on this. From Win xp pro 32 I can see Win7 U64 and I can access public and use the printer - without any problems but when I try to connect to admin shares c$, d$ etc I keep getting the prompt for username and password. I have tried using COMPUTERNAME\Username and password and also tried using username and password both keep spitting out requests for username and password - I commonly use the admin shares for SW deployments and I also need the XP Pro system to remain on the AD Domain On Win 7 the shares are listed, and are configured like every other post recommends and still the problem persists Any Help would be appreciated as long as rolling back off AD model is not part of the equation. Thanks Frustrated in AQ
