Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit loses share on external HD after shutdown/reboot
I have a Western Digital My Book Essential 2TB external hard drive that I share to "Everyone" on my home network (with full access). Everytime I restart the machine (or shutdown/restart), the network share is lost and the Sharing tab indicates "Not Shared". I have to share it out and re-assign permissions EVERY TIME I reboot or shutdown/power up. I did NOT have this problem when the drive was attached to a machine running Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit.

Hi, Thanks for the post! I didn't encounter this issue and I suspect there could be the 64-bit driver issue. Try to download the 64-bit driver and install it manually on the 64-bit Windows 7, then check if the issue persists.
