Hey JohnPM007, have you looked to see what your post looks like? Maybe you have got a virus. Maybe everyone is too afraid to reply in case they tell him something he already knows.

Using a proprietary application. It's irrelevant to inform what type of application or ports this app uses. The only information you need to know is the application works for all Flavors of Windows 7. Windows 7 Enterprise and Windows 7 Ultimate are supposed to be the same Per Microsoft Website. I'm connecting over the network using this application, when downloading a database, I get stuck on a "certain area" of the database. However, I find the following a weird work around---I have to manually browse to the c:\users\administrator\mydocuments\proprietary software folder; and then the application will successfully download the database. Anything, Anyone, Anyone? Again, Ethernet Error: Failed writing to socket when downloading a database using Windows 7 Ultimate. Works for Windows 7 Enterprise (both 32 bit and 64 bit). Firewall is disabled. Riddle me this Batman, Why can I browse to the folder path, and then the database starts to download via network connection. (Keep in mind the local path is not the database I'm downloading) We do NOT want to enable the local admin account. Please provide a work around or possible solution without telling me I have a virus or anything I don’t already know or checked. Is this a service, local security policy or anything to that effect causing this problem? It's not an application compatibility problem on our end. It has to be a service or local security policy affecting the download.

Hi, May I know if you set any security policy for the Windows 7 Ultimate computer? What database is trying to download? I suggest taking the permission of the C:\user\administrator\my documents\proprietary software folder. 1. Right click Windows Explorer icon on taskbar, in the jump list, right click Windows Explorer and run as administrator. 2. Navigate to C:\user\administrator\my documents\proprietary software folder, right click folder, chooser properties. 3. On Security tab, add your account into list with full permission. However, if the issue persists, please contact the application support since we don't know more information about it. Best Regards, Niki Please remember to click "Mark as Answer" on the post that helps you, and to click "Unmark as Answer" if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
