Windows 7 Ultimate, I7 and RSAT
Hi, I can't find a 64 bit version of the RSAT tools for windows 7. i tried installing the following and neither worked, the error message follows: Windows update "Update for Windows (KB958830)" could not be installed because of error 2148007941 "Server execution failed" (Command line: ""C:\Windows\system32\wusa.exe" "C:\Users\hank.voight\Downloads\amd64fre_GRMRSATX_MSU.msu" ") I am running Windows7 Ultimate 64 bit and the processor is a I7. Is there a 64 bit for intel version of the tools? Thanks! hank voight

You're using the correct version. Copy the file "C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log" to your document folder (otherwise you can't open it) and open it with notepad. Now search for errors. Which errors do you see? If you can't find errors, open the file C:\Windows\WindowsUpdate.log and look for errors too."A programmer is just a tool which converts caffeine into code" CLIP- Stellvertreter http://www.winvistaside.de/

Hi, Based on my research, the error "Server execution failed" indicates that you don’t have enough permissions to perform the action. Please make sure that you log in with Administrator account and run it in elevated privilege. Moreover, I would like to suggest you checking “Windows Modules Installer” service and make sure it is started normally. 1) Click Start and type: services.msc in the Search box. 2) Open Services panel and find Windows Modules Installer. 3) Double click on Windows Modules Installer, start it. BTW, also make sure that the downloaded file is fine, you may need to empty Temporary Internet Files and the %TEMP% folder, and download RSAT again. Best Regards Dale

I got it resolved... But can't understand why... The account that I was using for the install was from the domain and was a member of the local administrators group. That didn't work. Runas using a local account that was a member of the administrators didn't work. Logged in as a local user that was a member of the local administrators group worked. thanks hank voight
