Windows 7 System will not boot and is looking for installation CD
Several Windows 7 Systems will not boot and is looking for installation CD. Have been working fine for 2+ months.
Model; Lenovo x201
HDD;Solid State (Passes all diags)
OS: Win 7 Enterprise
number deployed 1250
15 have had issue in past week
I can see that MS10-015 KB977165 Cause a similar issue on XP and Vista and has been pushed out via Altiris.
Any ideas?
I have tried the cd repair and it finds the Windows Boot Manager and tries to repair it, says it works but it does not.
I have also tried all the bootrec.exe utilities and still no luck.
Repair with installation disk a few times and still will not boot.It states that the Windows Boot Manager needs to be repaired. It tries to repair and makes a backup the BCD, but still fails to boot into Windows. I can reinstall windows and look at the old
files in the Windows.old folder but do not see anything.
