Hi all, Recently I tried system restore in my windows 7 PC. Before restore I had 20 GB free space in my hard disk. Unfortunately system restore failed and when I checked it showed only 2 GB free disk space. I don't know what files did system restore saved on my hard disk. I cleared my temporary files, cache everything but of no use. Can anybody tell me where that 18 GB space has gone out. Is there any way to recover it. Thanks in advance, V. Prasanth Kumar

Have you run a Disk Size utility like Treesize http://www.jam-software.com/treesize_free/ If you run this, there is an install and portable version, it will tell you which folders are taking up the space.JamesCCA

You can't change the sectors and tracks.Run system restore again.Go to My computer icon right click on the icon.Click on Manage and run the disc defragmentor.Defragmentation allow the data in the contigous memory locations allow more space.

Yes and no..... Defragmentation maximizes the contiguous space on the disk. Renee
