Windows 7 Sync Center - Offline Files Problem
Hi, Our laptop users on Windows 7 have reported issues with Sync Center and network shares. I went ahead and tested this out. While connected via cable to the network, I enabled offline files and made certain network folders available offline. I manually performed a sync and then disconnected the laptop from all network resources. The files were available offline which was great... HOWEVER... Upon reconnecting the laptop to the network, these folders display a grey "X" beside them and cannot be accessed. It's seems as if I'm working offline, even though I am connected to the network. I had to disable offline files for everything to return to normal. Having files available offline is very important to us and we would like to use this feature. How can I make sure that our laptop users, when connected to the network, don't have problems accessing folders they have made available offline? Is this a known issue? If so, is there a Hotfix available to resolve this? Thanks for your time, -Dave

Hi V.M, Thanks for your reply. Actually, the laptops are already connected to the domain. The users log in using their domain user account.

Hi, Be sure that Offline File service is started, pay attention to the dependencies system components such as RPC and DCOM server. To disable and enable this service, then check it again.
