Windows 7 Software RAID 1 Recovery
Hi All My system consisted of a 128 GB SSD, and 2 x 2TB Sata drives. It was my first attempt at a Raid setup and i choose to do it using the operating system (Win 7 > device manger >etc ...). The SSD failed and now i have reinstalled Win 7 on a replacement, and left the Raid drives in place in the machine. I unplugged the Raid drives while reinstalling the OS on a new SSD, and have just plugged them in and the OS no longer recognises them (let alone the Raid configuration)..... I have tried plugging them in individually and that doesn't work either. Before i start messing around with them to much, i was wondering whether there is an easy way to fix this, that i havent been able to find online yet. I know that Raid 1 isn't an exact copy so i am assuming that they are unlikely to work individually. I have had suggestions such as - buy an external hardrive enclosure and try to get them to load but i am not sure that will work as they were created via software. PLEASE HELP. :)

Add only ONE data disk and look into Disk Manager. What do you see? Rgds Milos

Hi, Do you know if the Raid volumes were mirrored or striped? If Mirrored, you should have an identical copy on the healthy drive Most important, try not to issue writes/write requests to the disk, it will help when it comes to recovery. Martin If you find my information useful, please rate it. :-)
