Windows 7 Shared Network Printer Issue
Good afternoon all, There is a machine on our network that I can access. The machine is running Windows 2000 Professional. On that machine, is an HP LaserJet 8150 Series PCL6 printer that is set up locally for that machine. That machine has that printer shared. I can not for the life of me get Windows 7 machines to access/map to that printer. Windows XP users have no problems. My Process: Start-->Devices and Printers-->Add A Printer-->Add a Network Printer etc.-->Select the "available printer"-->Click Next After doing this, a Windows Printer Installation immediately starts that Checks Windows Update for the printer driver. The update fails and asks me to manually look for the driver. I then browse to the location of my driver, select it, and I immediately get this error: "Connect to Printer: Windows cannot connect to the printer." Details: Operation failed with error 0x00000214 I believe this is a compatible driver failure. So I download HP's universal windows 7 drivers (i have tried both 32 and 64 bit) for the 8150 (The only option) Extract is, and run it. It immediately fails after choosing Dynamic/Traditional mode with error 0X800F0214. NOTE: If I set up a different printer, say a "Local" printer with Standard TCP/IP with address 172.16.6.87 and run windows update, It finds a driver for the HP LaserJet 8150 Series PCL6. Any help would be greatly appreciated. As of now my assumption is that the printer is not supported by Windows 7 and visa versa

It appears to be working. Thank you! We should 1v1 in SC2 one of these days. I have not played for a while but I was #1 Diamond in my division when I stopped. ;P
