Windows 7 SP1 and RDP
Hi all my rdp doesnt work after upgrading to SP1 on windows 7 and also i cant ping when i try it from a different machine. any ideas on how to fix this thanks in advance narennaren

Hi Naren, First, I would like to confirm that if there is any error received. · To troubleshoot the issue, I suggest we perform the following steps. 1. Run Remote Desktop in administrator privilege. ========================= By default, the remote desktop connection runs as a user with the lowest user permissions. By default, a restricted user does not have permission to write registry entries to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. Therefore, attempts to rewrite the MSLicensing key may fail. To resolve this issue, we need to run the RDP client software as administrator: a. Click Stat, type: MSTSC in the Start Search bar and then right click on the "MSTSC" in the result list->select "Run as Administrator". Click Continue if it prompts. b. Type the target computer address and then click Connect to test the issue again. NOTE: For the troubleshooting purpose, please temporarily disable Firewall and third party antivirus program when establishing the RDP connection. You can re-enable it once we complete the troubleshooting steps. Can we connect to the target computer now? 2. Please turn on the Windows 7 machine and connect another target computer via Remote Desktop to have a test. 3. Open Remote Desktop window, click Options and ensure “Allow me to save credentials” has been unchecked. Switch to Advanced tab, select “Connect and don’t warn me” in Server authentication and then reconnect to see how it works. 4. Assure that the Remote Desktop Service is started. ========================= a. Click "Start", go to run, type "services.msc" (without quotation marks) in the open box and press Enter. Note: If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password, or click Continue. b. Right click the "Remote Desktop" service and choose Properties. c. Ah, a common issue perhaps. We upgraded two machines to SP1 in Belgium while connected via RDP. And after that upgrade we can not connect to them.PAul

Same situation... SP1 upgrade over remote - now can't get access to pc. Any solution available?
