Windows 7 SP1: Right Click root drive causes Windows Explorer to hang
If I Right Click a Root Drive like D:, E:, F:, G: etc. partitions then Windows Explorer will hang. Right Clicking folders and files in the right pane works fine. The only exception to this problem is Right Clicking the C: drive, no clue why but that does
not hang Windows Explorer.
How do I go about diagnosing this problem?Core i7 920 @ 2.66GHZ | ASUS P6T Mother Board | 6 gig DDR3 1600 RAM | 2x 500g SATA2 HDD | Integrated sound | Gainward Geforce 250gts "Deep Green" 1024MB PCI-E (latest drivers) | Windows 7 Home Premium x64 | Thermaltake 750watt Toughpower Power

In order to fix troubles associated with right click menu you can use a simple free utility called
ShellExView
The ShellExView utility displays the details of shell extensions installed
on your computer, and allows you to easily disable and enable each shell
extension
on your right click menu. ShellExView can be used for solving context-menu problems in Explorer environment
Always Launch ShellExView as administrator when running under
Windows Vista/7.
In order to solve the problem disable the non-microsoft context menu from the list one by one and then check if it solves the problem. If disabling does not solve the problem, undo the disabled item and try disabling another
non-microsoft item from the list.
