Windows 7 Roaming Profile Issue
I have a user who has a roaming profile and he is using Windows 7. What happens is whenever he creates a new folder on his desktop and deletes it, that is not saved back to the server from where the profile is loading from. So he has to go to the share in the NAS, from where his profile is loading from and delete it from there. Only when he does it and he logs off and logs back in again, the folder is deleted, otherwise the folder comes back again if he deletes it only from his desktop. He also gets a message while logging off which says that "Roaming profile is not synchronized completely " and it asks to check Event Viewer for further details. When i go to Event Viewer in Application Logs i see some errors which says something about Group Policy Client Side Extensions. We have a a Domain GP which has something to do with Folder Redirection. Can that be causing this issue ? He is the only roaming profile user who is facing this issue, there are other roaming profile users, who didn't complain about this thing. Please suggest what can be the resolution, i have tried deleting his profile from the server share and it created a new .V2 profile, but still the same, he keeps on getting the synchronization error while he is logging off the machinePallab Chakraborty

Hi Pallab, Roaming profiles and Folder Redirection are two different technologies. It sounds like you are using Folder Redirection, you can review this here: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc778976(v=WS.10).aspx Behaviour can differ depending on the client and server versions you are using - is anything different about this user, their laptop, or their homedrive location? If you are running Windows 7 and Server 2008 R2 then I suggest this is the article for your review: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff633429(v=WS.10).aspx
