Windows 7 Remote desktop disconnects
I have a client running Windows 7 pro on Dell Optiplex box. She remotes into several computers/servers without any issues. When she tries to log into one particular server, her remote session gets disconnected continually. I talked with the admin of the server in question, no one else is reporting this issue. She has two computers that she uses on the same network. When she logs into the same server on her other computer, she doesn't have this disconnect issue. I have tried several scenarios with different computers, the only way I can reproduce this issue, is to use her computer to connect to this one particular server. I cannot reproduce the problem any other way. She is running Windows 7 fully patched, does not appear to have any malware installed. I ran a system file checker scan, no reported issues. I get this error in the event log. Faulting application name: mstsc.exe, version: 6.1.7601.17514, time stamp: 0x4ce7a161 Faulting module name: ntdll.dll, version: 6.1.7601.17514, time stamp: 0x4ce7b96e Exception code: 0xc0000374 Fault offset: 0x000c37b7 Faulting process id: 0x1944 Faulting application start time: 0x01cc1672b80e1b03 Faulting application path: C:\Windows\system32\mstsc.exe Faulting module path: C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\ntdll.dll Report Id: 01d298c4-8266-11e0-b9ed-002564c6905e

Hi, First, you could look at the following article: MSTSC.EXE (Remote Desktop) from Windows Server 2008 R2 to Windows 7 client crashes For a test, you could go into Remote Desktop Connection options and unchecked local devices and resources. Then you can re-connect or restart mstsc.exe to see whether the same issue still occurs. Also, you could try to boot into clean boot to check how it works. Hope it helps.
