Windows 7 Remote Access
Is there any way to remote access a Windows 7 Home Basic (x64) computer from a Windows XP Pro SP3 (x86) computer? I tried the Remote Desktop Connection feature but to no avail. Is an upgrade from Home Basic necessary?Best Regards, Jithu Thulasi Chand B.Tech (E&C) MCSE MCSA MCP RHCE RHCT CCNA Brainbench-Certified

Home Basic, like all Windows Client OS's, has support for running the RDP "Client". This means that you can initiate an RDP assistance request from the Home Basic computer to another machine that is running the "Host" RDP service. But not the other way around. In other words, there is no way to setup the Home Basic machine to "listen" for incoming RDP requests in order to control it remotely. You have to go third party if you want that type of capability (see LogMeIn, GoToMyPC, etc.)."It's a tough life... but someone has to enjoy it!"
