Windows 7 RTM installed and I dont have permission to view or edit random files on my hard disk ?
Hello I was using Windows Vista and Windows 7 RC 1 without any problems. I've removed both of them and installed a Fresh clean copy of Windows 7 RTM. My User is Administrator and I have folders and files in D: ( which is my documents partition that was not deleted ) and I dont have permission to view or edit them? The strangest thing is that random folders and files are with wrong permission. Most of the content of D: is OK but some random files are messed. I've try to change the permissions, to change the ownership but nothing helps. Another strange thing is that I can delete them, so I've tried this I've commited them to SVN and removed them from my hard disk than checkout again in the same folder and they are ok. But random files in my hard disk start appearing to have similar problems I cannot commit everything to SVN ( my D: is like 100 gb) so what Can I Do ? I even try to enable the build in Administrator account but the situation there is the same. My Question is why Windows 7 RTM is more buggy than RC1 ? :) and How can I use my files !

Thanks for your input! I also encountered "being denied access to some files and folders". At first, I was puzzled - why would the OS refuse access to innocent files - even for the machine administrator? I thought it's a BUG - but after "working" a little with w7, now i think it's a FEATURE. I'm sure the hackers will find the way to escalate privileges from Administrator to System and successfully exploit this FEATURE (e.g. installing viruses in Admin-has-no-access folders). You see, Microsoft does not think about it's profit - it's creating a huge market for helpdesks, antivirus programmers, etc. Good job! BTW: I'm quite security-sensitive, and it was terrifying for me to see that after two days I started clicking "UAC prompts" OK button without reading or thinking.
