Windows 7 RSAT won't install on Windows 7 Ultimate
The RSAT will not install on 2 different windows 7 PCs at our office. The 2 computers are running x64 Windows 7 Ultimate. We are using the amd64fre_GRMRSATX_MSU.msu downloaded from technet. Neither computer has SP1 beta (this seems to be a problem for some people.) We do not get any installation errors. Rather, the installer runs very briefly, and then says Installatin Complete. Event log also has a message that the app was installed. However, we do not see Remote Server Administration Tools anywhere in Windows Features. When we run the installer via command line with verbose logging, this is the output we get: === Verbose logging started: 8/25/2010 10:56:24 Build type: SHIP UNICODE 5.00.7600.00 Calling process: C:\Windows\system32\msiexec.exe === MSI (c) (24:90) [10:56:24:857]: Font created. Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer Package. The installer file was downloaded from TechNet. Also, it doesn't seem to matter where I run the installer from (desktop, user\downloads, etc.), I get the same error. Please advise!

Hi, What is the version of Windows 7 Ultimate installed? Ensure that you installed a right version of RSAT on the right version Windows 7 Ultimate, and ensure that there is no any previous version of RSAT installed on the same computer. I would like to share the following similar thread: Remote Server Administration Tools (RSAT): Installed "successfully" but still cannot find out in Features More reference: Remote Server Administration Tools for Windows 7 Best Regards DalePlease remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
