Windows 7 RDP disconnect issues
The 3 admins in my office all have upgraded to Windows 7 x64. Since doing so, every time we remote into our computers, it acts as if we have logged off when disconnection the session. We all have VPN setup and work randomly from home as problems arise. After opening an RDP session into our pc's, the next time we physically sign on to our pc's, everything is closed and it acts like we weren't signed on. This also happens when remoting from within our network, so it's not related to VPN. Any suggestions on how to prevent this from happening?

Hi Jason, Does this issue occur with all three Windows 7 machines? Base on my understanding, Windows 7 machine will log off when disconnect RDP. If I misunderstanding, please let me know. I suggest to perform these tests to troubleshoot the issue: 1 Temporally disable firewall on Windows 7 2 Check if any Group Policy has been set in Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Remote Desktop Services\Session Time Limits 1) Enable "Set time limit for disconnected session" to NEVER 2) Enable "Sets a time limit for active but idle Terminal Services sessions" to NEVER 3 Enable Fast User Switch: Computer Configuration \Administrative Templates\System\Logon, and set Hide entry points for Fast User Switching to Enabled. Yes, when I close or disconnect my RDP session into my Windows 7 x64 pc it logs off. Windows Firewall is disable by policy. Session Time Limits weren't set, so I disabled all them to force unlimited time. Enable fast user switch is set to hide entry point for fast user switching I'll try it tonight and see what I get. Thanks.
