Windows 7 RC will not update.
I've tried this on several computers and I keep getting this error. "Windows could not search for new updates. An error occured while checking for new updates for your computer. Error(s) found: Code 80244019." And when I go to Get help with this error, I get this for help. "0 results for "WindowsUpdate_80244019" "WindowsUpdate_dt000" [This content is preliminary and subject to change.] Suggestions Check your spelling Try a different phrase Other options to try Search the Windows website Go online to get answers from other Windows users Search IT Pro content on the Microsoft TechNet website" For some reason on all the computers I try to update I have same problem. And there are at least 7 computers with Windows 7 RC 32-bit installed. Does any one know what to do? I need help badly. EDIT: I've checked other threads. They say that it could be from a Trojan, this doesn't fit my case because I did clean installs on all these machines. As in a new harddrive.

Have a look at this: http://www.windowsreference.com/windows-vista/errors-found-code-80244019-when-trying-to-run-windows-updates-in-windows-vista/and report if you found any helpful in it. Most parts refer to a situation where your domain controller is falsely identified as a WU server but the WinHTTP part could be useful in other scenarios, too.Regards. Mob. AMD64 3000+, 1 G RAM, Mob. HeavyMetalTurk, Error code 80244109 means that there is a problem contacting the update server. If your computer has a live internet connection, try following the steps outlined here for Windows Vista.-Alex

I checked both of those, and I can't do anything. [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\AU] HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SOFTWARE \Policies \Microsoft \Windows \WindowsUpdate \AU After windows, there isn't Windows Update. And I checked all the drop down menus to see if there was a AU hidden, and nothing.

You say that you checked both of those (the same link, btw). In this loooong thread there were posted at least three possible ways to try out:1) If the lines \WindowsUpdate\AU aren't in your registry (as they aren't in mine, WindowsUpdate is under HKEY_LOCAL-MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion) maybe the domain controller / WU server problem does not apply to your situation. You may add the missing lines and the key UseWUserver=dword:00000000 just to be on the safe side. I can't say if this will help you, though.2) Have you tried the WinHTTP part like suggested? Again, no guarantee that it helps.3) Lastly, have you tried out this advice: "From 'Network and Sharing Center' click on 'Manage Network Connections' on the left. Find the internet connection you are currently using and right click on it, then go to properties. In here click on TCP/IPv4 and click properties. I had IP address entered into the DNS server address, all i did was remove this by clicking Obtain DNS automatically, then restarted the computer, now my Windows Update works fine." ? Even this idea is delivered "as is". You must look for yourself if it works. Please report your experiences,regards.Mob. AMD64 3000+, 1 G RAM, Mob. I tried everything, and still no such luck. However, I just checked my PC at home and it update fine. I think I may have a DNS Trojan Issue, I'm going to trial and error that right now and see if it's the issue. I'll update if there's a problem. If it does work, Thank you everyone for helping, you guys are awesome.
