Windows 7 RC to Windows 7?
So I'm running the Windows 7 RC on a test computer as my only OS and, since I can't use the Windows 7 upgrade once it comes out, what would be the best way to transition from Windows 7 RC to Windows 7? I figure I can either buy the Full Version of Windows 7 and do a clean install, but would it be easier/cheaper to buy Vista with the Win 7 upgrade coupon and then downgrade to Vista and then upgrade once Win 7 comes out? I figure at least this way I won't lose all my data (Windows Easy Transfer didn't really work for me with the beta so I'm a little nervous about using it again). Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.

You could try windows marketplace. Maybe you could upgrade from a system builder.

The standard answer for the question "how do I go from one OS to another?" is always the same: backup the useful data fdisk/format the drive clean install"Fear disturbs your concentration"

But if he wants to do it cheaply he'll have to upgrade. Windows 7 upgrade is predicted to be about $300.00.

Not really. If you are running Windows 7 RC1, you'll have to perform a "clean install" of either Windows Vista or Windows 7.In your case, puchasing a "full license" edition of Windows 7 would make more sense.Carey Frisch

Seeing that the 7 ultimate upgrade is going to run around $300.00 plus the price of the full version of vistahe was thinking about purchasing for the sole purpose of upgrading certainly it would make more sense to preform a clean install but I was hoping that by the price I quoted for the 7 upgrade people would put two and two together.
