Windows 7 RC destroyed all networking options
I'd had Windows 7 beta installed on a ThinkPad T61, where it worked largely without incident. Recently switched it to Windows 7 RC, and did a full overwrite install. Now I can't connect to my home network at all (via an Open Networks 625W) router, either using a wired or wireless connection. Running the troubleshooter says no problem found. No network-dependent applications work (I can't use IE or access online Help, for instance), but I can ping some web addresses from the command line. Running ipconfig suggests I have an IP address, but the dot connection indicator doesn't appear in the status bar. Tried doing ipconfig /release but the process hangs with the message "No operation can be performed on Local Area Connection while it has its media disconnected". Never had any networking problems with the beta release. No problems connecting to the same network with my Vista machine. Any suggestions anyone?

Can you go into device manager and see if you have any devices with an "!" next to them? Any unknown devices?
