Windows 7 RC ISO files corrupted
Hi, I don't know if anyone else is having this problem, but EVERY time I download the 32 or 64 bit versions of the *.ISO files from Microsoft, after they finish downloading, it says the file is corrupted. I have now downloaded these *.ISO files a few times each, and they keep coming up as corrupted when the download manager checks the file after it finishes.

Sounds like you have a very bad net connection. What net connection do you have? If DSL, make sure the phone filters are on every phone in the house. The size I have for my 7 RC download is: 2,471,656 KB / 2.35 GB. If your file size is any lower than that, your connection likes to drop downloads and cannot be trusted with any huge file size download, like 7 RC. Hopefully you saved all the product keys given at the start of each download, as each product key can install on RC on 3 different computers!Hello! The file size sounds right, and I am downloading at about 200K-300K per second, sometimes it got to 400K per second. There is a phone filter on each phone, I did not save each product key for each download, I only saved the 32 bit key and 64 bit key once each. I am not going to worry about it too much, I have liked what I have seen and I will most likely buy Windows 7 Professional.

OK. Wish you saved those keys, though, as you can report back to MS that you would never use the keys because you had to try downloading again because of faulty downloads... The download speed I got was about 500K, which was twice the normal speed I get with downloads over the Wi-Fi connection (w/ WPA security on Ubuntu 9.04) that I downloaded the RC from (I'm surprised MS's download manager worked with Linux!) Um, you could try downloading the RC off of a live CD and see if it goes through. Have you tried not making any phone calls during the download process? (and asking your friends to not call you on the landline during the download) Do you share a connection with your Bit-Torrent happy neighbors? (aka same phone line goes to 10 houses in your neighborhood and 1 person always hogs a lot of bandwidth) If so, you may not be able to get a strong enough connection to correctly download a 2.35 GB ISO file (7 RC). Glad you like Windows 7 and I hope you enjoy using the final version if getting the RC does not work.Hello! I have the same problem downloading, and am on a fast 5mb DSL. I think the problem is at the server end, not the client.

Hello! Before assuming a server problem you need to check that there are no kinks in your connection! Do you have the phone filters installed on every phone in the house? And you have tried every solution mentioned here, right?Hello! As mentioned earlier, I am not going to worry too much about the RC version now. I am glad to see that the Windows 7 release date has been announced for 22nd October 2009. I am looking forward to reading the full reviews.
