Windows 7 RC 64-bit Remote Desktop bug
Hi there,I've got some issues, last night i connected to our sbs2003 server with remote desktop and i wanted to copy some files/docs from my hard drive to the servers HD.The os returned an error message "file doesn't exist..", i checkd my pc,and i found that all my short cuts are missing from my desktop and the first file i wanted to copy (they weren't in the bin).I tried again and it looks like every time u are trying to copy it deletes your short cuts and the first file u wanted to copy.Any one can confirm?

The shortcuts are not removed, the shortcuts disappear because the screen is refreshed but the refresh does not finish properly. It hangs at that time. When you copy and paste, some process may consume large system resource. Does the issue occur when you connect to other computers via Remote Desktop? I suggest that you temporary disable or remove the anti-virus program, firewall and anti-virus. Then check the result. If the issue persists, you may install Remote Desktop Client 6.0 on the Windows Server 2003 computer.

I can tell you that the shortcuts and the FILES get deleted. I am having the same problem. Windows 7 64-bit connected to a Windows 2003 Terminal server. If you try and copy and paste, the file goes away - dissapears. If you open your \\tsclient folder and even CLICK on a file - it will be GONE! Lost. no trash can, nothing - gone. This is a MAJOR bug imho.Refreshing the screen, or logging off/on does not return the files - they are gone. I have and can replicate this dozens of times. The Terminal server and the Windows 7 pc are VERY fast machines with LOTS of free resources, the link between them in Many megabit and not bogged down - the proposed answer is fine for older systems as I have a few of those and copy / paste operations CAN bog down the entire system - this is NOT the case here.I am also running theDesktop Client 6.0 on all my TS 2003 servers w/ SP2,so that is not the fix.

I also can confirm that this is happening. The files get completely deleted, and are irretrievable. This is a major bug that I can't believe hasn't gotten more publicity or has been fixed yet.

Using Win7 Enterprise x64 and connecting via RDP to various 2003. I cannot copy/paste a file between the two desktops. Clipboard mapping is not disabled; copy/paste of text between the two is just fine. RDP to 2008, this functionality works just fine. Running GetOpenClipboardWindow.exe shows nothing unusual. Tried restarting both ends, refreshing rdpclip, etc... I suspect this is a bug with Win7 x64.

I just got hit. Win 7 Pro X64 release version connected to Windows Server 2008 (not R2). Was moving some photos around. Moved files up from subdirectory to main directory e.g. X:\a\b\c files up to X:\a\b by drag and drop, went to delete one remaining file in X:\a\b\c and either at that point or when I went to delete the c directory blam entire contents of directory X:\a\b gone. Drive was not mapped as network drive to Win 7 was going via Network / Server / etc. Tried a control-Z says something like files no longer found. Not in recycle bin, not anywhere. This sucks. Was not connected via Remote Desktop.

My rdp sessions completely freeze my pc when connect to windows 2008 server with an ASUS G60VX Notebook, Running Windows 7 64-bit Home Ultimate. I have to hard power off. No event log is created other than the pc was unexpectedly shutdown. I have no issues when connecting to a Windows 2003 server environment. My video card is a NVidia GeforceGTX260 CUDA running NVidia's latest drivers. Please some help from a MSFT Tech.

Hi, I have hanging issues as well. When I copy paste (text) from a remote windows 2003 x64 to a local windows 7 x64 the client computer (win 7 x64) starts hanging. It looks like the copy paste eats up the whole pc. The only solution is to kill the mstsc client. Then everything starts working normal again.
