Windows 7 RC1 connectivity issue
I have searched hard and long trying to find an answer for this problem. The intermittent network connection. The uninstalling of the Microsoft Office 2007 does not work. I have reinstalled Windows 7 RC1 three times. The last time I no problems was installed except for Windows 7 RC1 but same problem. Also, I don't have any third party firewall installed. I am using AVG Anti-Virus the free version. I have to plan ahead of time to use my PC. I turn it own and then logon go and find something to do for about 10-15 minutes then come back to check to see if it makes connection and most time it does after sitting for so long. When I tried to use the "Diagnostics Policy Service" it said it is not running. If I tried to get to the service it said I don't have the permission. Although UAC on my PC is disable. It is very frustrated. I wish I could go back to the Windows 7 beta no problem. I am running a x64 based PC, core 2 duo, 8GB memory and Intel 82566DM gigabit network card. Anyone knows if Microsoft is coming out with a fix anytime time some. I really don't want to go back to Vista because I have to tweak it too much for it to run like I want it to... Any suggestion.... thanks, adrian2000

There needs to be a known issue before it can be addressed by a fix. What do you have running at startup? Can you check what is using up so much CPU or RAM when you boot? Did you check Windows update for the latest drivers?

I am following up on my post. I believe I found a solution to my problem. This may help someone else. So I decided to reinstall Windows 7 once again but this time every application I added I created a restore point and then reboot. I think my issue was with AVG Anti-Virus the free download. After installing AVG I created a restore point and rebooted it did connect. So I reverted back before AVG installation - reboots and it connects. Now it takes about 5-10 seconds better than what it used to do. At this point I would not say AVG was main cause but certainly it was a part of the problem. For now I will live with the 5-10 seconds compare to 10-15 minutes and many reboots. I hope this help someone else. -Adrian

I don't know if you are having the same issue as I was with both the 32 bit & 64 bit Windows 7. I lost internet/network connectivity only when I rebooted. To fix this I right-clicked on My Computer then went to Properties then selected Device Manager . From there I went to Network Adapters and right-clicked on my network card. I selected Properties and click on the Power Management tab. I then unchecked Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power . Clicked OK then rebooted. I can now reboot and/or shutdown with no problem.
