Will Windows 7 RC ever be availabe in a "Free" DVD ?. I don't mind paying for the postage.

Hi Wainui,With fast broadband there aren't many people who would want to pay for Windows7 RC. I can understand the request if you are only on dial up or you have a really slow connection, but even then I don't think it would become available on a DVD.If you have problems with slow downloads could you not ask a friend with a fast connection to download it for you and burn it to DVD? That is one way of getting your hands on a copy.John Barnett MVP: Windows XP Associate Expert: Windows Desktop Experience: Web: http://www.winuser.co.uk; Web: http://xphelpandsupport.mvps.org; Web: http://vistasupport.mvps.org;

Wainui - Not likely. While Microsoft did make DVDs available for the Vista beta, they've chosen not to do it this time around.

Hi Guys,Thanks for your response. I am on broadband but my monthly allocation is only 3 GB and I understand that the Windows 7 RC is over 2 GB. Once I exceed my 3 GB limit the download speed drops to Dial Up speed.I subscribe to PC World Magazine and last month they gave out a free DVD of Windows 7 Beta. I was just wondering if Microsoft was going to do the same with the RC version.

Wainui - Eeewwwwww.... That is a truly sucky deal - but I suppose you gotta take what you can get. Yes, the 32 bit RC is ~2.6 GB and the 64 bit is ~3.4 GB. It's possible PC World may do it again. Not sure if Microsoft had much of anything to do with the distribution, though. They may or may not do it again.
