Hi, Usually the system files are protected by Windows 7. Can you please tell me why you want to edit the protected file? Thats unsafe to change or edit the file which is protected. Regards, Leo Huang Leo Huang TechNet Community Support

So that I can unprotect some the files I want to change upon boot then re-protect them. When I want to install Windows. I create my own boot screen and would like to use it for my Company's Windows installation. My theory is that if I could find the list I could edit out the files that keeps it from booting the created boot screen. IHTMS John
