Windows 7 Professional hangs while compiling/linking on network share
Hi, While compiling a project with VS2010 on a networked drive (x:\) the compile/link process freeze, the processes link.exe etc. refuse to be killed, Windows 7 refuse to restart normally and the only way to restart/shutdown is to kill the power, resulting in corrupt libs/files. The problem doesn't appear while compiling on a local disk. There's nothing wrong on the server side, other users running xp do the same operations on a daily basis. Before running win7 i used XP and never experienced the same problems. I'm running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit

According to your description, I suggest to perform these tests to troubleshoot the issue: 1 Login with Clean Boot or Safe Mode with networking 2 Temporally disable firewall or antivirus software 3 Update your NIC driver 4 Disable “Remote Differential Compression” in Control Panel-----Programs and Features-----Turn Windows features on or off. Hope that helps. Regards, Leo HuangPlease remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
