Windows 7 Professional and Server 2003 mapped drive problems
I just upgraded to Windows 7 Professional on one of our office PC's. All the other PC's are XP Pro, and have no problems. Have a Standard Server 2003 in a WORKGROUP, not a Domain, and cannot access the server from the windows 7 PC. It allowed access right after doing the "Windows Anytime Update", now when the PC boots, or I double click on any of the mapped drives, which all have red x's on them, the 2003 server immediately looks out that user. Have tried logging into the server using other user names and passwords, and get the same results. The server 2003 locks out those users also, then asks to log in as the original user. I always see the word "Domain" on the windows 7 PC when it goes to log in to the server. The server is not set up using a domain, just a workgroup. We updated the Windows 7 machine to professional as it said we needed to, to resolve this mapping, (sharing) problem, and still have the same situation as when it was Home Premium. We can access the server with no problem using Remote Desktop. We can also see and copy files to the Windows 7 PC from the server with no problems. Have searched Google, and found no solution to date. Getting very frustrated with something that should be a no-brainer. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
