Windows 7 Prof Print Server
Hello, I recently switched my print server from an old Windows 2000 box to Windows 7 prof x64 on a Virtual Machine. I have all my printers and driver's up and going problem I'm having is I have them all shared and listed in the directory (which is a 2003 mixed mode until I get my new 2008R2 box) however they show up in the directory and then it seems at random they will just disappear so I have to either restart the RPC service or uncheck "list in directory" hit apply and then re-add it.. I disabled the firewall due to I thought it may be it causing the problem, no luck. I'm pretty lost as to what might me going on and it's rather frustrating to me and my end users, any suggestions to resolve this would be appreciated.

Hi, If printers disappear, it is generally because of some type of network connectivity problems. The following tech articles give an explanation for this issue and provide the work-around to get the Disappeared Printers back, hopefully they can give you some hits: Published printers from AD disappear Printer Pruner May Prune All the Print Queue Objects on Its Site Hope it helps.
