Windows 7 Pro x64 uses upnp to open a port on my router! Anyone else seeing this?
I have a netgear wnr3500 router with UPnP enabled (for PS3 and xbox360) and windows appears to be opening a port on my router when it starts up. Using tcpview and process explorer from sysinternals i think i tracked it down to svchost.exe for services such as windows update, BITS & server (lanmanserver). At first i thought it was malware, but have ran scans using win defender and avg. Closest thing to it i could find on the net was this http://www.beta.bt.com/bta/forums/message.jspa?messageID=73546 Has anyone else seen this behaviour or any other ideas as to what is happening? Thanks
