Windows 7 Pro x64 cannot connect to VPN on ISA 2004 server
When I try to connect I get error 812, saying there is some kind of authentication issue. I checked on the ISA server and it is set to MS-CHAP v2. I don't know where else to check for authentication issues. The VPN connection works fine from my XP machines

Hi, VPN error 812 is described as a policy mismatch. The connection was prevented because of a policy configured on your RAS/VPN server. Specifically, the authentication method used by the server to verify your username and password may not match the authentication method configured in your connection profile. The credentials used to dial in didn’t have the dial in permissions. Please contact the Administrator of the RAS server and notify them of this error and give you the permission to dial. Make sure that you have joined Windows 7 Pro x64 to the domain and ISA Server is detected available. I have permission - as I said it works just fine on XP. I am not in the domain on XP. Is there something different about 7 that requires my computer to join the domain just to create a VPN connection? And how would I joing it if I can't connect to the VPN? I have full access to the ISA server. What, exactly, do I need to check there?

Does anyone know of another forum that might be a better place to post this question?
