This driver responded slower than expected to the resume request while servicing this device: I dont even know what this driver is for or what the Windows service Windows Driver Foundation really does as the desciption is vague a usual within services manager or services.msc stating DEscription: MAnages user-mode driver mode processes. I havent a clue what to do to resolve but the service appears auto and i running by default. CAn I stop it without issue or how do I best handl the event log reported error thanks!

Hi, Please share us the detailed event log. Basically, this event is logged if there are drivers not functioning correctly or WDF service stops. I would like to recommend you to stop and restart the Windows Driver Foundation service. Meanwhile, check the dependency services and ensure they are started. Here is one of many event log details and it shows the the location and filename of the Drivers Foundation Service that is taking 8.9 seconds to load after a bsod crash and thus appearing in the diagnotics -performance log. the file WUDFDd.sys is the identified file. This is a new installation and when I look the file properties it does concur with the error info but I dont know how to fix or inprove or replace the .sys file driver used. The dependancies are running but during a crashed restart I cant view the services it is dependent upon but if they were not available for a threshold duration it would make sense they are started because they do not also appear in this event area regarding service restarts being to slow. Based on my further research, the problem could be caused by the graphic driver, please uninstall and reinstall the latest graphic driver. Dale - due to the MSFT, Moderator indication below your name is that an indication you work for microsoft? The reason I ask is I wonder why I can not get Microsoft assistance for flaws and breaks in a public released version of software I bought stupidly from microsoft store for 299.00 Using any search engine and looking at the driver wudfrd.sys clearly indicates I am not the only one having issues with that and much more - So if you dont work for microsoft why a shift in suggestions from needing the info I gave you to a changed reply to upgrade my video - As you likely know about embedded video from whatever manufact is upgrades from them in this case on this PC is HP and they have no newer driver. So then I am left looking on AMD site for an ATI driver cause AMD bought ATI and to find one for a embedded video on a HP using an asian motherboard with ATI Video is no fun for anyone to look for upgrade. In you FURTHER reseach why did you not chose to link the site that changed your suggestion. This forum is turning into a circus simply because Microsoft released drastically untested software - Then microsoft exacerbates all problems by not supporting with 24x7 live support or 24x7 phone or much of anything except mail escalation and I cant locate that mail account for WIN7 Pro or IE8 - Look at all the forums here and add up all the first posts. SIGN 1 there is a problem - SIGN 2 look at all the wasted cycles paying customer hop through to get answers to a payed for and bought broken unsupported by Customer focus corporate values hence all the BS and problems and lack of microsoft doing the right things right the first time or any resemblence of assuming responsibilty with results driven focus we are all out here floundering becasue what we bought is broken and not supported or tested anywhere near what is needed in reality - Dont believe me do google searches on nearly all issues here and nothing new is happening or being resolved that has gone already unresolved for another poor paying customer. Know any good Linux flavors and download sites? So do you work for Microsoft?

I wonder what happens if you uninstall and install new graphic drivers? "Know any good Linux flavors and download sites?" I personally would recommend Ubuntu, I've been using it since 6.10, & they come out with 2 releases annually. http://www.ubuntu.com/desktop/get-ubuntu/download http://www.opensuse.org/en/ http://www.mandriva.com/download/free http://www.gentoo.org/main/en/where.xml

Hi customer, Calm down please. I’m sorry that my reply makes you uncomprehending and getting angry. The reason why I let you update the graphic driver is that I found a similar issue in our internal database with the same event ID and event source that was resolved by updating the graphic driver. Thus I’d like to share it with you and have a test. Thanks for your understanding. Meanwhile, please understand that Microsoft introduces several platforms to help resolve customer’s problems. The TechNet forums is used to answer some common technical questions and hold discussions on technical support. I would like to try my best to help you and give information that I know. However, I can’t guarantee to resolve all kinds of issues, there are still many areas that I need to learn. If the problem is unfamiliar or tough, I’d forward or introduce you involving senior team for support. For example, you could contact Microsoft Customer Support Service (CSS) for online support to get further help. Additionally, regarding this issue, I would like to propose the following suggestions: According to my research, the issue is mainly caused by third party drivers, to help identify if the issue is relevant to driver problem, I recommend you to perform a Device Clean Boot: 1) Click "Start", type "DEVMGMT.MSC" in the Search textbox and press Enter. 2) Expand "Sound, video and game controllers". 3) Right click on your Sound Card, select "Properties" 4) Click "Driver" tab, click Disable (Disable the selected device). Click OK 5) Please use the same method to disable other hardware such as: Modem, network card, CD-R drive. Please note some devices such as video adapter are not available to be disabled. 6) Please restart the computer.
