Windows 7 Power User to install printer
When I want to install the network printer in Windows 7, it will have "Do you want to trust this printer" message and later there is "Access denied" message when copy the driver files to the C drive. The user only have the Power User right at that time. However, it will work fine for the Local Administrator right. But I cannot give the Local Administrator for the user. Is there any solution for this Windows 7 case?

I know in Win 7 Enterprise this can be managed by GPO. Maybe for other versions too? Open Group Policy Editor and look under Computer / Administrative templates / Printers and check out the options for "Point and Print restrictions"...Hay

Hi In GP, we have a GPO named “Allow non-administrators to install drivers for these devices setup classes”( Computer Configuration\Policies\Administrative Templates\System\Driver Installation). You can specify the device class GUID of printers to add. Also, you should configure two "Point and Print Restrictions" settings in Windows 7 Computer Configuration/Policies/Administrative Templates/Printers/Point and Print Restrictions User Configuration/Policies/Administrative Templates/Control Panel/Printers/Point and Print Restrictions Please note, if you want users to be able to install ANY printer, with ANY driver, from ANY server, set the Point and Print settings to "Disabled".
