Windows 7 Power Management with Allow Wake Timers
All,I have a Windows 2003 AD Domain and Windows 7 clients.I have successfully configured our Windows 7 clients to use certain Power Management options thru the use of GPO.However, I don't see an option to configure the "Allow Wake Timers".I would like to use this to wake Windows 7 machines up to do a full scan with our Antivirus program. Can anyone tell me how to configure "Allow Wake Timers" thru a Windows 2003 AD GPO?Thanks,Systems Admin

In Windows 7 it is configured by the following policy. Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\System\Power Management\Sleep Settings\Specify the System Sleep Timeout This policy is only provided in systems later than Windows Vista. Therefore you cannot configure it in Windows Server 2003. You may try to configure this policy in Windows 7. Please: 1. Launch mmc from Start Search box.2. Click File->Add/Remove Snap-in.3. Add Group Policy Object, browse to one DC. 4. Create new GPO for that policy in the console.Arthur Xie - MSFT

That policy item isn't for "Allow Wake Timers"? Does anyone know if there's something for it?
