Windows 7 Persistent Route Metrics Are Ignored
I am having trouble with Windows 7 persistent routes working because the metrics I have set are being ignored. I have the metrics set as 1 in the persistent routes. Windows 7 set the metric to 11, not 1. When I connect to my home VPN the metric of the VPN default route is set to 11 and persistent routes change to 4236. This is a completely different to windows XP. In XP the persistent route is set to 1 and even when connected to the VPN remains 1. These persistent routes need to work as they are set to prevent local traffic from being routed outside the local network through the VPN. Works great on XP, fails on Windows 7. This appears to be a serious bug. Screenshots http://student.wiu.edu/KE-Mccormick/TechNet/

Found a possible solution to not have VPN add a default route, but still can not use remote assistance when connected to VPN.
Free Windows Admin Tool Kit Click here and download it now

Trying to use remote assistance on local network, not through VPN.
