Windows 7 PC freezes on resume, please help
Hi, A friend of mine's Windows 7 PC keeps freezing on resume mode. What happened, first of all, was he put it into sleep mode (using the start menu option), then came back later, tried to wake it up but no video was displayed on the screen, nor did any lights on the keyboard light up. He then chose to reboot it using the manual reboot button on the PC chassis, when it started to reboot, it came up with the black screen that you get on resume, that prompts you to make a selection about how you want to boot. He cannot make a decision however, as no keystrokes on the keyboard have any form of response from the system and it just sits there on that one screen without doing anything. If it helps, the system specs are: CPU: AMD FX-6100 MB: ASRock 970 Extreme3 RAM: 8GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600MHz GPU: PowerColor Radeon HD6790 HDD: Western Digital Caviar Green 1TB SATA3 7200RPM Windows 7 Pro (6100) x64

Do the following to stop Windows 7 from hanging after sleep mode: 1.In the control panel, get into Power options and constomize your mode to never set shut down the hard drive. 2.Still in the control panel, set a screen saver to work if no activity has been identified. This happens to solve Windows 7 hanging problem after sleep mode in a few cases.Marco Adamo

Yes, that does nothing, although my friend says he may have found a solution, but would rather I try it. I will get back to everybody on here as soon as i've tried the solution, if it works, i'll be sure to post it on this thread
